Little Boar's Head ADU Draft Ordinance (Working Draft)

Planning Board Accessory Housing 2026Summary of New Hampshire state ADU regulations

Why are these changes being considered?

Recent updates to New Hampshire law require municipalities to allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in all zoning districts that permit single-family homes. The LBH Planning Board is reviewing the current ordinance to ensure compliance and determine how best to implement these requirements locally.

Next Steps

Resident participation is encouraged and appreciated. Two sessions are currently planned:

  • Planning Board Public Hearing & Deliberative Session:

The June 23, 2026 Public Hearing will be the second public deliberative session for the proposed ordinance. In this meeting residents may ask questions, provide feedback, and then the Planning Board may consider clarifications or revisions before the ordinance is presented to voters.

Following the public hearing process, the proposed ordinance may appear on the Little Boar’s Head Village District warrant for voter consideration at the Annual Meeting.

At the Annual Meeting, residents generally vote to approve or reject the warrant article as presented. As a result, detailed ordinance discussion, public input, and possible refinement of the proposed language typically occur during the Planning Board public hearing process.

Questions or Comments

Questions and comments are welcome and may be shared at Planning Board meetings or submitted in advance via email, U.S. mail, or via google survey here.

As this is expected to be the final Planning Board meeting before the proposed ordinance is forwarded for inclusion in the warrant, residents are encouraged to submit comments and questions in advance. If you are unable to attend in person, please consider using one of the submission methods above.
