Planning Board

The Planning Board is the local land use regulatory agency responsible for ensuring that community development is consistent with state laws and the will of the Townspeople. By maintaining the Town’s Master Plan, the Planning Board identifies the most appropriate land use and development opportunities which preserve and enhance the unique quality of life and culture in the Town of North Hampton. The Planning Board encourages orderly land development using appropriate plan review processes, land use regulations, and community input. Members of the Planning Board are elected for a three (3) year term with select seats eligible for election yearly on a staggered rotation.

The Planning Board regularly meets once a month to review and vote on various land use applications. Please contact the Planning & Zoning Administrator for information regarding application submission or to review submitted applications. Public Hearing notices for submitted applications are posted at Town Administration buildings and on the Town website a minimum of 10 days prior to each meeting. Additionally, the Planning Board holds monthly work session meetings. Notices for these meetings are posted at Town Administration buildings and on the Town website a minimum of 24 hours prior to each meeting. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings.
