North Hampton Electric Aggregation Plan – Public Hearings

The Town of North Hampton has developed an Electric Aggregation Plan (the “Plan”) which outlines how North Hampton’s Community Choice Aggregation (“CCA”) Program will work. CCA programs are designed to offer competitive choices to eligible electric consumers (North Hampton’s residents and businesses) as an alternative to the default energy service provided by the town’s two electric utility companies, Eversource and Unitil.

Adoption of this Plan is subject to approval by the Select Board and, if approved, will be placed on the March 2024 Warrant for adoption by a majority of those present and voting at Town Meeting.

Eligible consumers may opt-out of North Hampton’s CCA Program and select their utility as their default energy service provider or choose their power supply from another competitive supplier at any time before or following enrollment in the CCA Program. Consumer participation in the CCA Program is entirely voluntary.

Community Choice Aggregation refers to the grouping of electric consumers within a municipality to provide electric power supply and related services for those consumers. Communities typically implement this program for cost savings and to offer choices that include a larger proportion of renewable energy.
