Planning Board

The Planning Board is the local land use regulatory agency responsible for ensuring that community development is consistent with state laws and the will of the Townspeople. By maintaining the Town’s Master Plan, the Planning Board identifies the best and most appropriate future development in order to preserve and enhance the quality of life and culture of the Town of North Hampton. The Planning Board encourages orderly land development using appropriate plan review processes, land use regulations, and community input. Members of the Planning Board are elected for a three (3) year term with two members elected yearly on a staggered rotation.

The Planning Board regularly meets once a month to review and vote on various land use applications. Please contact the Planning & Zoning Administrator for information regarding application submission. Meeting notices are posted in the Library, Town Clerk's Office, Town Office, and the Town website and published in the Portsmouth Herald or Hampton Union a minimum of 10 days prior to each meeting. Additionally, the Planning Board holds monthly work session meetings in the Town Hall. Notices for these meetings are posted in the Library, Town Clerk's Office, Town Office, and Town website. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings.
