State law requires that tax bills be sent to the address of the last known property owner. The Assessor's Office updates property records after receiving copies of the recorded deed from the Rockingham County Registry of Deeds. The attorney or closing company should check the status of taxes due. It remains the responsibility of the new property owner to insure that taxes are paid and to notify the Town of any change in mailing address.
