Upcoming Road Construction:

Garrett Road

A road improvement project is tentatively scheduled for Garrett Road in early September. This project includes full depth reclamation of the existing pavement, regrading and installation of asphalt pavement. Crews may be saw cutting the end of driveways to provide a smooth transition to the new pavement.

This project is estimated to take approximately one week, and residents and delivery vehicles will be allowed unlimited access to homes during this time. Please be advised residents my experience some vibration in their homes due to the compaction process associated with the project.

South Road

A road improvement project is scheduled for South Road in early September. The project includes full depth reclamation of a section of South Road from Post to Garrett. This section will be regraded and a 2 1/2" base course will be installed. Crews may be saw cutting the end of driveways to provide a smooth transition to the new paving.

This project is estimated to take approximately one week to complete. During the project, South Road residents and delivery vehicles will be allowed access to homes during this time.

South Road may be closed to thru traffic during the execution of this work. Any cleanup to shoulder work will be completed in the fall once the pavement has had time to set up. Please be advised residents may experience some vibration in their homes due to the compaction process associated with the project.

In the summer of 2025, a 1 1/2" asphalt top surface course will be applied from Post Road to Route 95. This schedule may change due to funding and or weather.

The Public Works Department maintains all Town accepted roads from repairing to snow removal. Staff maintains the Recycling and Brush Dump Center. Twice a year the Public Works Department provides Bulky Items Disposal at the Brush Dump. The Public Works Department also processes permits for any new driveways or any excavation on any Town right-of-way.
