Dog Park Committee

Mission Statement:

To establish a fenced in, off leash park where people and their well behaved dogs can socialize and exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering people, property or wildlife.

To view the park as a community project in partnership with the Town of North Hampton.

To foster an increased sense of community by encouraging social interaction among citizens.

Belief of the Committee:

We seek to encourage responsible dog ownership through the dog park and interactions with the community.  We believe this will be achieved through the public use of a dog park.

Status Update:

The North Hampton Dog Park Committee was formed by the Town of North Hampton's Select Board in November, 2017.  We are a volunteer group who has been working diligently toward establishing a dog park in the Town of North Hampton, New Hampshire.  We have several incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic committee members who have already devoted hours of time researching, planning, and thinking critically on how we can make this dream a realty.  Our members believe that a dog park will be a valuable addition to North Hampton and all the surrounding communities.

The committee recently formed a New Hampshire based non-profit organization (IRS 501 (c) (3)) "Friends of the North Hampton Dog Park" for fundraising purposes.  The Friends raise funds to support the committee's endeavors and the committee makes all financial decisions in order to best put funds raised toward the goal of building a dog park.  Our current priofirity is to acquire a parcel of land for the dog park.  Without access to funds it was difficult for our committee to get the word out about our search for land-an important first step in our process.  Nevertheless, we have had so much positive support from locals, both residents of North Hampton and residents of neighboring towns!  Now that the Friends are an established 501c3 and we are able to financially support our outreach, we are optimistic our efforts to acquire land will prove successful.

After the park is constructed, it is our hope that the town will take over, own and maintain the park for public use.  The Friends would remain an established 501c3 in order to continue to raise funds and support the town in maintaining the park.

At this time, and funds raised by the Friends are being used for public outreach in order to gain support from the community as well as to raise awareness about our search for land.  After land is acquired, funds raised will continue to be used for community outreach as well as for construction and maintenance of the dog park.

At the end of the day, our goal is to create a dog park that benefits both dogs and owners alike and improve the seacoast's sense of community.  We would be so grateful to have your support with our efforts.

If you're interested in supporting our cause, have any questions, or would like additional information, please feel free to contact us via email or through messanger on Facebook or Instagram.

We hope that you will continue to follow our efforts, help us spread the word, and keep an eye out for fundraisers and events.
