Our Facilities

ReSource Epping

ReSource’s facility in Epping began operating in 1996 under a prior owner and was acquired by our company in 2009. It is the largest processor of C&D wood waste in New England. The facility is easily accessible from I-95 and accepts a wide variety of C&D waste from waste handlers, demolition contractors, roofers, landscapers, property managers, contractors, clean-out companies and homeowners. The facility processes virtually all solid, non-hazardous C&D waste, recovering components of value and transforming them into reusable commodities.

ReSource Epping specializes in the processing and recovery of wood – it recovers more wood than all of the other processors in New England combined. Wood that is recovered at Epping is converted to energy and other products.

Products Created & Sold

Our recovered materials can be used to for a wide variety of applications: fuel for electricity generation; medium-density fiberboard (MDF) manufacturing; asphalt paving; new cardboard and drywall; recycled plastic and metal products; and miscellaneous construction materials and soil substitutes. We are proud to manufacture customized products to meet market needs.

Impact on the Region

The facility is an important corporate citizen in the region, as it supports nearly 40 direct jobs, other indirect jobs associated with the haulers who deliver waste to the facility, and additional jobs tied to local goods and services related to the facility.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

In 2017, the Epping location energized an 803-kilowatt solar array, which was one of the largest developed to date in the state of New Hampshire.  The solar array provides electricity to the facility and reduces the site’s carbon footprint.

C&D Processing System

The processing system at the Epping facility is particularly well-suited to process large quantities of waste wood, along with mixed C&D debris.

1

Initial Processing

Upon receipt of inbound materials, the initial processing step takes place on the outdoor concrete pad where material is unloaded.

2

Material Segregation

At this point, targeted materials including sheetrock, cardboard, bulky non-processibles (such as carpet) and large iron and concrete objects are segregated using large front-end loaders and excavators.

3

Initial Size Separation

The remaining material is stockpiled and fed into the process line, which includes a screen for initial size separation.

4

Picking Stations

Next, a series of three staffed picking stations, two hammermill shredders, additional screens to size-segregate into different fractions, and magnets separate ferrous metal.

5

Water-Based Separation

The Epping facility also incorporates a water-based density separation system that removes brick, rock and other metals to create high-quality wood chip products.

6

Products are Sold

The end result are product streams – woodchips of various grades, ferrous metals, aggregate, corrugated paper, and other recyclables – that meet or exceed quality standards required by the markets to which the products are sold. The remaining residues (typically less than 25% of inbound materials) are segregated and sent to landfill.
