The principal role of the Zoning Board of Adjustment [ZBA] is to review and rule on applications for zoning variances, special exceptions and hearing appeals from decisions made by administrative officials. The ZBA provides the necessary flexibility to ensure that the ordinance was applied equitably to all property. ZBA members are elected for 3-year terms.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment regularly meets once a month, on the fourth (4th) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to review and vote on applications for relief. Please contact the Planning & Zoning Administrator for information on and the procedure for submission of applications. Meeting notices are posted in the Library, Town Clerk's Office and Town Office and published in the Hampton Union or Portsmouth Herald a minimum of 10 days prior to each meeting.
